Before you proceed with your treatment, your healthcare practitioner will ask you some questions about your medical history, current medications and any other relevant medical information. This ensures that they always put your health first. During the treatment session, your carefully selected BELOTERO® product is injected into the specific area of the skin to deliver the results, using a very fine needle/cannula.
-
Every BELOTERO® treatment is designed around you, and no two treatments are the same. The length of time a treatment takes will therefore depend on your needs – it’s mostly influenced by the particular area of your face being treated. Simpler treatments are very convenient – plenty of patients can fit a BELOTERO® treatment into a lunch hour. Your healthcare practitioner will be able to answer your specific treatment questions.

When injecting into the skin to correct lines and wrinkles, correct volume loss or sculpt contours, the treatment is relatively painless for some, but others may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort or pain. Many of our products contain lidocaine to reduce the sensation of pain you may feel, maximising your comfort.
-
BELOTERO® has been designed to integrate readily into your skin. This is especially important in areas like your lips, where you want to see great results without feeling anything different.
-
Some patients experience some swelling, bruising or redness after the injection which usually subsides rapidly after treatment. Many patients find they can return to work immediately after treatment.

Yes: the aesthetic results are immediate. As the treatment is less invasive than surgery, you will be able to continue your daily activities as soon as your appointment is over, with a fresh new look to show off!

We’re all different, so treatment outcomes vary according to the patient and the type of product used. The effects are not permanent; but are considered long-lasting (i.e. usually several months). The exact duration will depend on many factors, such as the type of treatment you choose, the treated area, and your natural skin type, skin condition, lifestyle and age. As always, your healthcare practitioner will be able to offer personalised advice, and this should be a part of your initial consultation.
After your initial treatment, we usually recommend at least one follow-up session. During your follow-up visit, your healthcare practitioner may decide to inject more product in order to refine the effects of the initial treatment.

The primary active ingredient of our products is hyaluronic acid (HA) and some also contain glycerol. Both are natural components found in the skin. You therefore won’t need a preliminary allergy test. Some BELOTERO® treatments also contain lidocaine to minimise any discomfort. There are, however, some injection-related reactions which can occur in some patients, including slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising and pain at the injection site. These reactions are normal and generally mild to moderate; and usually recede shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within a week. Be sure to inform your healthcare practitioner of any and all allergies, especially to lidocaine, before your treatment. Your healthcare practitioner will be able to answer any specific questions you may have; and you shouldn’t hesitate to ask questions at your initial consultation.
